A Designers Guide to the Paris Flea Market
The Paris Flea Market or Les Puces de Saint-Ouen is the largest flea market in the world! Les Puce is located on the northern outskirts of Paris and is open Saturday to Monday. You could easily spend an entire weekend winding your way through the miles of vendors selling every imaginable type of antique. This map is very helpful for navigating Les Puces.
If you only have a few hours, I would suggest shopping Paul Bert and Dauphine.
One of the great things to come out of this trip to Les Puces is the contacts we now have for these dealers. We can now more easily import items via phone and email if we are looking for pieces for a project. This was one of the goals of our trip. Many smaller French brands do not have a strong presence in the U.S. because of the challenges of importing. We wanted to see the wares and meet the dealers, so we are not limited to online antiques or what the auction houses bring over.
We also successfully shipped items from les Puces back to the U.S., so we are now set up to find that one-of-kind piece for any future project. I am already looking forward to our next trip!
If you are heading to Paris and want to shop Les Puces, please don’t hesitate to reach out, and I am happy to share more about my experience.
